Praising God through Dancing is in the Bible, not started by Pentecostals,

Praising God through Dancing is in the Bible, not something started by Pentecostals as some opposers try to suggest.

Dance has a notable place in Biblical worship and is endorsed in several passages:

Psalm 149:3: “Let them praise his name with dancing and make music to him with timbrel and harp.”

Psalm 150:4: “Praise him with timbrel and dancing, praise him with the strings and pipe.”

Exodus 15:20: “Then Miriam the prophetess, Aaron’s sister, took a timbrel in her hand, and all the women followed her, with timbrels and dancing.”

2 Samuel 6:14: “Wearing a linen ephod, David was dancing before the Lord with all his might.”

Jeremiah 31:4: “I will build you up again, and you, Virgin Israel, will be rebuilt. Again you will take up your timbrels and go out to dance with the joyful.”

These verses reflect that dance can be a joyful and acceptable form of worship in Biblical tradition.

David and Michal: A Case StudyThe story of David and Michal provides a specific example related to dance in worship.

In 2 Samuel 6:14, King David danced before the Lord with all his might as the Ark of the Covenant was brought into Jerusalem. David’s exuberant dance was a profound expression of his devotion and joy. However, Michal, David’s wife and daughter of Saul, criticized him for this display.
2 Samuel 6:16 notes her disdain, and 2 Samuel 6:23 explains the consequence: “Michal daughter of Saul had no children to the day of her death.”
